The smell is attributable to the chemical structure of the coatings. Trim and door paint does take more of a beating that wall paint, therefore you will find a higher VOC and strenghening chemicals. Also if you add Floetrol you may find it's stronger still. Floetrol is not in the article, but it is an addative that reduces brush marks. It works great with ProClassic. ProClassic Gloss is what I always recommend for white trim as ProClassics' semi-gloss is closer to a satin finish.
